SPOTLIGHT ON RIVER VALLEY GARDEN CLUB

Founded in 2003, the River Valley Garden Club (RVGC) is open to residents of Rancho Murieta, Sloughhouse, Wilton and nearby communities.   RVGC is a member of California Garden Clubs, Inc. (CGCI), National Garden Clubs, Inc. (NGC), and qualifies as a 501c3 nonprofit organization.

The purposes of the River Valley Garden Club are to:

  • Provide programs designed around members’ gardening interest that present gardening and horticulture experts.
  • Arrange field trips to various locales that feature unusual gardens or special garden-related materials.
  • Encourage and support civic beautification within our communities.
  • Lead or assist in developing conservation projects of local natural resources.
  • Advance the awareness and education of our members and our local communities in the value of gardening.

The RVGC awards scholarships to horticultural students and provides grants to worthy horticultural projects. They contribute to Penny Pines to reforest national forests in the Sierra.

General meetings are held the 4th Tuesday of the month (September, October and January through June) at the Rancho Murieta Association (RMA) building, 7191 Murieta Parkway.
